My story

Eleni, mae gan Wesley a mi ddigon i'w ddathlu a bod yn ddiolchgar amdano. Rydym eisoes wedi dathlu penblwydd Wesley yn 85, ac ar ddechrau Mai byddwn yn dathlu ein penblwydd priodas Ruddem. Ond yn fwyaf pwysig, rydym am ddathlu yr 80 mlynedd mae Cymorth Cristnogol wedi bod yn brwydro yn erbyn tlodi ac anghyfiawnder. Bydd ein sialens yn adlewyrchu hyn. Gobeithiwn gwblhau 40k erbyn ein penblwydd priodas, a  gorffen yr 80k + 5k (penblwydd Wesley) erbyn diwedd Mai.

2025 is a year of celebration and thanksgiving for us. We have already celebrated Wesley's 85th birthday, and at the beginning of May it will be our ruby wedding anniversary. But more importantly, we want to celebrate the 80 years Christian Aid has been fighting poverty and injustice. Our challenge will reflect this, as we aim to complete 40k by our 40th anniversary, and the rest by the end of May. In addition we'll walk 5k to complete Wesley's 85thyear.

Our hill and coastal walks will be in solidarity with millions of people who have to walk long distances for clean water or to sell their produce, and the money raised will help communities fight the climate crisis

In Guatemala, farmers like Aurelia are battling extreme weather, but with Christian Aid’s support, they’re learning skills to protect their farms and provide for their families.

Your support can help fund this vital training. Just £20 could buy two pounds of climate-resilient seeds, diversifying a family’s crop and increasing their resilience against the effects of the climate crisis.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
